Early Times Report
Jammu, June 5: With different constituents of Hurriyat (M) going public on the issue of Professor Abdul Ghani Bhat's controversial statement, the possibility of cementing the cracks in the separatist conglomerate seem quite bleak.
Nayeem Khan's organization, National Front (NF) issued a statement in the summer capital this evening accusing Professor Bhat of ignoring Mirwaiz Umar Farooq's instructions besides violating the constitution of the amalgam.
A spokesman of the NF said: "Professor Bhat instead of feeling sorry for his controversial remarks issued a statement saying he stands by what he said at Sopore." Pertinent to mention Professor Bhat while addressing people at Sopore last month said the UN Resolutions had lost their utility and the Hurriyat Conference must join hands with National Conference and the PDP to find a long lasting solution to the Kashmir problem.

The spokesman also made a mention of Nayeem Khan's letter addressed to the Mirwaiz. "Nayeem has written a letter to Mirwaiz today. We hope that the Mirwaiz will consider the points raised in the letter", he said.

The spokesman expressed shock over issue of show cause notice to Nayeem Khan last week. "It is ridiculous and a decision taken in haste", he said.

He said, "It is not fair to issue a show cause notice to a person who points out that Hurriyat Constitution is violated. How can the Mirwaiz treat Professor Bhat and Nayeem Khan at par?".

Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) leader, Shabir Shah walked out of the Hurriyat executive council meet last week when the Mirwaiz issued a show cause notice to Nayeem Khan. "Action shall be taken against professor Bhat and in the meanwhile, Nayeem Khan is placed under suspension", Mirwaiz declared in the meet much to annoyance of Shah and other constituents.

According to political circles, if the present trend continues, the Mirwaiz Hurriyat may disintegrate. However, Shabir Shah has ruled out that possibility. According to him, nobody shall be allowed to form the third Hurriyat Conference.
