J -K Chief Justice to be sworn in on Friday | | | Srinagar, June 6 : The newly appointed Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court will be sworn in on Friday. The warrant of appointment of Justice Mahesh Mittal Kumar, currently the acting Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, as Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court was signed by the President last month. "The new Chief Justice is likely to be administered oath of office on Friday. In this regard, all arrangements have been finalized", highly placed sources in High Court said. The oath-taking ceremony is likely to be held at Raj Bhawan. Currently, Justice Virender is the acting Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court. He had taken over from former Chief Justice F M Kalifullah, who has been elevated to the Supreme Court. |
