If employees don't get pension, stop same to MPs, MLAs: NSF | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 6: National Sikh Front has demanded from the State and Centre Government that the pension of MP's and MLA's should be stopped with immediate effect as Centre Government and all the State Governments have stopped the pension of new Government Employees after 2004 because they said that they have shortage of funds. Speaking in a press conference Chairman of National Sikh Front S Vainder Jeet Singh today has demanded from the State and Centre Government that the pension of MP's and MLA's should be stopped with immediate effect. "Centre Government and all the State Governments have stopped the pension of new Government Employees after 2004 because they said that they have shortage of funds, he said if financial constraints affect the government employees why the MPs and MLAs be spared from this effect. A Government Employee who works for 30 years or more for the cause of government and the Government is not giving him pension on the basis that they have shortage of funds but on the other hand the same rule doesn't apply to MLAs or MPs. "Why these double standards, he said and added, "NSF demands from the Government that they should immediately, stop the pension of MLA's and MP's or they should restore the pension of new Government Employees. "The Committee giving the suggestions needs to reconsider its decision because; in this democratic set up all of us are equal and no none should be given extra benefit be it a MLA or MP or a common man, he said and further added that NSF will start agitation against the Government if government doesn't listen to our demand. NSF leaders also said that they will write to President, Employees and Labour Unions in this regard. Speakers also welcomed the decision regarding Anand Marriage Act and urged the state government to implement the same in J&K. Besides S. Kulwant Singh, Bhatti President NSF, among others present in the media interaction included S Mohinder Singh President Gurudwara Ranitalab Digiana, S Darshan Singh and many others. |
