JAMMU, June 6: Announcing jail bharo programme by BJP activists at all districts on June 22 against irregular supply of electricity and drinking water, misgovernance, corruption and price rise, party State President Shamsher Singh Manhas said that from June 23 to 6 July during the Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee fortnight state wide protests will be held against the report of Interlocutors which he described as highly damaging. He was addressing the meeting of senior leaders, State Office Bearers, District Presidents, MLAs, Heads of morchas, Prabharis and Seh-Prabharis at party headquarters here today.= Manhas said that the people of the state, Jammu province in particular, have been made to suffer on account of long power cuts and irregular supply of drinking water. In these days of temperature touching 45 degrees, the PDD has imposed cuts of 6-8 hours. Not only this, the PHE too has failed to ensure regular supply of drinking water. He said that even after installation of electronic meters and regular payment of electricity bills, the government has resorted to unscheduled power cuts, which have added to the miseries of already suffering people. He also condemned the government's recent drive to revise the load of electricity without giving due consideration to the actual power consumption by domestic users. Emphasizing on the importance of strengthening the organisation at the district and mandal level, Manhas said that the Office Bearers should devote more time to work for the organization. Shamsher Singh Manhas also informed the office bearers about the party's plan to start the construction of the new office complex next month and made and appeal for liberal contributions to meet the budget of this mega complex designed on modern lines. |
