Youth arrested with stolen stamp papers

Jammu, June 6: A youth was today arrested along with stolen stamp papers worth thousands in Janipur area of this winter capital, police here said. "The accused identified as one Charanjit Singh Sodhi, resident of Bawe Wali Gali, was arrested today along with the stolen stamp papers worth Rs 70,000 recovered from his possession," Satinder Singh Station House Officer,Janipur Police Station said.. He said on May 20 a complaint was registered by one O P Gupta, resident of Surya Nagar Talab Tillo regarding theft of notary and stamp papers worth Rs 70,000 from the Sub-Registrar Court. "Investigations were initiated and on a tip-off the accused was arrested today from his residence" he said adding that the papers were also recovered from his possession. A case under FIR number 63/2012 under section 379 of RPC has been registered and investigations are in progress he added. A team comprising the SHO, ASI Sat Pal, SDPO Rouf Lone and SP North J S Johar was constituted by the SSP Jammu Prabhat Singh to work out the burglary.
