Teachers allege misuse of funds, demand probe

Rajouri, June 6: Alleging misuse of government funds allotted to Rajouri district for various educational schemes, teacher organisations today asked Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to form a committee to probe the matter. "Be it government-funded projects like mid-day meal scheme or transfer of teachers, some officials have ignored norms and taken decision as per their whims and fancies," a representative of the teacher organisations said. "We request the Chief Minister to form a committee to probe irregularities committed by the officials," he said. The teachers also expressed annoyance over the transfer policy. "Teachers have been victimised unnecessarily.
