| VHP stages protest against Sri Sri's remarks | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Rajouri, June 6: Continuing its protest against State Govt and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) for curtailing the annual Amaranth Yatra to 39 days, the VHP activists accompanied with Bajrang Dal and other like minded organizations today staged protest against Sri Sri Ravishankar who recently defended the curtailing of Yatra due to inclement weather.
Amidst sloganeering against state government and SASB, the protestors also burnt effigy of Sri Sri Ravi Shanker for his recent controversial remarks defending the confinement of two month yatra to only 39 days. Activists of VHP and Bajrang Dal assembled at Tehsil chowk and after formal addressing to the activists the VHP leaders set the effigy of Sri Sri Ravi Shanker to fire.Later talking with media persons, Yugvir Gupta from VHP and Karan Thakur from BD alleged that Sri Sri Ravishanker has fiddled with religious emotions and has tried to defend a stance of the government that has already hurt the feeling of crores of Hindus by reducing the yatra. They also said that Sri Sri should first gain a first hand knowledge of religion before passing baseless statements. They also warned to initiate seriousness of protests and agitation against Sri Sri on such baseless statements. |
