Candidates of Wardens' posts meet Lal Singh | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, June 6: The candidates, who appeared for interview for the posts of wardens in J&K Prisons department today called on Member Parliament (MP) Choudhary Lal Singh. The candidates under the presidentship of Pankaj Sharma informed the MP the advertisement for the said posts was published in the local newspapers in the year 2005 and the interview of the same was held in the month of November 2010. Pankaj Sharma said that near about 40,000 unemployed youth appeared in the interviews and only 1200 candidates qualified for the post, however, it is quite strange that despite lapse of more than 2 years, the concerned authorities have not issued the final selection list. The president of the candidates said that with effect from 1995 no selection has taken place in the deptt and the there are more than 2000 vacancies in the department due to which there shortage of manpower. It is pertinent to mention here that a deputation of the unemployed youth who appeared for the interview met the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Srinagar on September 21, 2011 and the CM has assured that the list of the selected/eligible candidates will be issued in a shortest possible time. MP Lal Singh also gave full assurance that the matter will be solved soon. |
