Environment, Ecology and Remote Sensing Directorate organises symposium | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 6: As part of its week long programmes being held to mark the World Environment Day, the Directorate of Environment, Ecology & Remote Sensing today Organised a symposium on the theme 'How to green Environment, Unfriendly Sectors" whereat students drawn from various schools of the city spoke at length on the subject The students of the schools which participated in the symposium were from National Public School, Environment Educational Institute, Sanatan Dharam Public School, Presentation Convent School, Monteseare Cambridge School, Govt HSS Julaka Mohalla, Ishwar Public School Bahu Fort and Women Welfare School. Harshita Jamwal (10th) of Environment Educational Institute Miss Mahima (9th) of Presentation Convent School and Miss Ragni (10th) of Monteseare Cambridge School secured first second and third positions respectively. Some students, including Simran, Varsha Jamwal, Ritika Anand , Suman, Palak Bali also recited their poems highlighting the importance of clean and green environment for the survival of the human life. A group song led by Suganda on the theme was another highlight of the programme. Additional PCCF, Ravi Kumar Kesar, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed prizes and the certificates among the participating students and lauded their vision and knowledge on the subject. He also delivered key address on the theme "Green Economy; Does it include you?" and shared his experiences on the demanding need for the conservation of the natural resources in the present day world. |
