| Insurance Employees condemn police firing on striking workers | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 6: In its meeting held at Jammu, Northern Zone Insurance Employees' Association Srinagar Divisional Committee has strongly condemned the police firing on the innocent workers, working on the Chenani National Highway tunnels, who were on strike due to the reason that the Management of M/S LIEGHTON illegally and arbitrarily terminated two local workers without following any rules and regulations.
Speaking on the occasion, Comrade Pawan Gupta, Divisional Secretary NZIEA Srinagar Division, raised serious concern over the gross violation of labour laws by the said company, and appealed to the District Administration and the Labour Department to intervene in resolving the issue and also to ensure that these companies strictly follow the labour laws .Comrade Pawan Gupta fully supported the strike by the workers in support of their genuine demands. |
