JAMMU, June 6: Wrestler Benia of J&K Police bagged the 49th Annual Aghar Jitto Kesari Vishal Dangal title defeating Wrestler Kamaljot (Billa) of Khanna in Punjab in the main bout that took place at village Aghar Jitto in tehsil and district Reasi as part of the three-day mela. Winner Benia awarded with a cash prize of Rs 6000 along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta while runners- up wrestler, Kamaljot got Rs 5,000.
About 38 bouts were decided in this day long dangal. The second main bout went to Rafiq of Ludhiana, who beat Anand of Master Chandgi Ram Akhara Delhi. In third bout, Parveen of Khanna defeated Saif Ali of Mallerkotla while fourth bout was bagged by Kallu of Bishnah out playing Devinder of Delhi. The fifth bout was clinched by Bittu of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi after he defeated wrestler Murad Ali of Jammu. Additional SP Katra, Mohan Lal was the chief guest in this dangal, which was organized by Baba Jitto Development Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling. President of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided.
Naib Tehsildar Katra, Sher Singh, SDPO Katra, Rajinder Katoch, Major Dijender Singh, SHO Katra, Pardeep Kumar and a visiting businessman of Delhi, Jugal Kishore Sharma were guests of honour. Prominent among others present were Sarpanch Krishan Singh (Papu), Headmaster Gopal Krishan and Retd. SP Prithvi Raj Sharma .
