| Can logical Omar fix tourists number to Kashmir | | | Rama Sharma
Jammu, June 6: The proponents of curtailment of Amarnath yatra are relying heavily on the ecological concerns. This was one of the main counter arguments even of the separatists, who in their 'make-belive' world view it as a conspiracy by the right wingers to change demographic profile of the Kashmir.
Even CM is concerned about ecological affect of this yatra and had tweeted to get a logical answer for prolonging the yatra.
If the logic is the yard-stick and parameter on which this propaganda has been based, then by the same logic shouldn't be their curtailment of tourists coming to Kashmir.
Lakhs of tourists who are thronging the Kashmir and boosting its economy are equally to be blamed for denigration of ecology and precious natural resources as the point is made against the yatra.
The same tourist, go to Phalgam and even further, the base camp of yatra. In comparison to yatra their number if much more and by the same logic they pose more ecological threat than the yatris.
If the State is so serious, than it can take a cue from Sikkim, which had fixed the number of tourists visitinig there. Sikkim, like Kashmir, is hilly state and is equally conscious of its natural beauty.
It's not so economically advance as J&K but is concern for nature is not based on partisian approach but on pure logic.
However, CM is not using his logic on this count. In the recent tweet he had said that he is happy to see economy activity because of the tourists.
So happy are Kashmiri based politicians, but who doesn't want to see yatris, that law minister said they are hopeful of getting 50-lakh tourists.
Now, logically it can be easily deducted that the amount of damage to nature and ecology to Kashmir would be about ten-time more by this number than by the yatri. It would be more ecologically suicidal as government is promoting even virgin places for tourists flow.
On this account even separatists are with the Kashmir based politicans as they don't want to be seeing hurting the interests who are in a way their financer. But they have no objection in hurting sentiments of low key businessmen who tend to yatris, who are not big time spender.
Omar if swears and goes by the logic should also tweet about his concerns of tourists inflow on Kashmir rather than focusing on just yatris.
