Four held for running fake certificate racket | | | early times report JAMMU, June 6: Busting a fake certificate racket, the Ramgarh police of Samba today apprehended four persons. The accused included Sheetal Kumar, son of Ram Lal of Data Talab, Bari Brahmana, Ram Lal, son of Isher Dass of Gole Gujaral, Daljeet Singh, son of Jaswant Singh of ward No 4, Mukerian, in Punjab and Sansar Chand, son of Dhanna Ram of Gagore, Ramgarh. The alleged racketeers were said to be active in Samba district and in some Punjab areas, police sources said. So far eight fake certificates of matriculation had been recovered from their possession.
The accused were alleged to have confessed to their involvement in the making of hundreds of such fake certificates and sold them to youth who were now working in various state and central government departments, the sources added. The cops of Ramgarh police station first laid hands on Sheetal Kumar and Ram Lal and other accused were arrested on their disclosure. Sources said some of the gang members were absconding and efforts were being made to apprehend them too. Police also recovered one laptop, two desktops, three printers and one scanner from the possession of Sheetal and Daljeet. A case under sections 420, 467, 468 and 120-B of RPC was registered against the accused at Ramgarh police station.
