| Total knee replacement at ESIC Hospital | | | early times report
JAMMU, June 7: In a rare surgery, the specialized team of doctors under the leadership of Medical Superintendent, Dr Rajpal performed `total knee replacement' at ESIC Model Hospital, Bari Brahmana, near here today.
"The procedure adopted in this surgery is done rarely in Jammu. Moreover, the patient who needs to undergo this procedure spends lakhs of Rupees outside the state. The IPs covered under the ESI scheme does not have to pay for this costly surgery," informed Medical Superintendent, Dr Rajpal.
The Department of Orthopaedics, ESIC Model Hospital has to their credits total Hip replacement and Bipolar Hemiarthroplasty apart from managing traumatic injuries with minimal invasive surgical techniques using C-Arm wherever required. The team of doctors, who performed the surgery was comprised of Dr Nirdosh Mahajan (Consultant Department of Orthopaedics), Dr Ramavtar (Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon, Basaidarapur), Dr Gurpreet Singh (S.R Ortho), Dr Tilak Raj (Senior Anaesthetist) and Dr Sonica Dogra (S.R Anaesthesia). |
