EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 7: Two-Days training on use of statistical software SPSS was organised by the Department of Statistics, University of Jammu for Faculty, Research Scholars and Students of the University SPSS South Asia trainer Rakesh Chandra fine tuned about 25 participants, who were trained on use of the software for statistical computing for data analysis in research. Prof Rahul Gupta, HOD, Statistics deliberated on the market need of Statisticians trained in use of statistical softwares like SPSS, STATISTICA,SAS, MATLAB, BMDP and MINITAB and assured of organising such training programmes regularly in future for the benefit of researchers in the fields of management, behavioural sciences, social sciences, sciences and life sciences. In the technical sessions the participants were trained on use of Data Management, Data Editing, Data transformations, Data Analysis techniques including Descriptive Statistics, Bootstrapping, Tests of Significance, MANOVA, Factor Analysis and Regression Analysis. Participants in the training programme included Dr Pawan Kumar, Dr Parmil Kumar, Dr Vijay Shivgotra, Dr Sunil Kumar, Sandeep Kumar Rakesh Chib, Ms Ankush Bharti, Neha Jain, Ameena Rajput, Sunny Babbar and Rahul Sharma. |
