Relief holders continue hunger protest

Jammu Jun 7: Kashmiri Migrant Relief Holders and over aged youth continued their chain hunger protest held in office of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner entered into the 69 consecutive day here on Thursday.
The members took strong note of the State Govt's attitude for delaying to send the formal letter regarding enhancement in cash assistance to the Central Government fully knowing that more than twenty four thousand families are fully dependent for their survival and sustenance on cash assistance. Had government been sincere enough to mitigate our problems permanently relief holders and over aged youths should have not suffered after migration so miserably.
"It was further decided that hunger strike will continue till the formal order regarding enhancement in cash assistance is issued and the strike may take its different shape if the government fails to issue the orders, the spokesperson said.
