Jammu, June 7 : The sudden rainfall in late evening finally brought respite to Jammuites from the sweltering heat wave that had gripped the Jammu for the past many days. The temperatures dropped giving respite to the people from the heat.
Jammuites who were looking for much needed respite from hot and humid weather conditions today heaved a sigh of relief on Thursday evening with weather gods showered plenty of rain across the region. The immediate fallout of the brief spell of showers was felt by one and all as it brought smile on other wise drenched faces soaked in sweat. The mercury fell few degrees as the sudden cool breeze turned into a torrential shower in Jammu. Large number of people ventured out of their houses in the company of their friends and family members to enjoy the cool breeze and fresh air. The city parks and eating joints were flooded with visitors and long traffic jams were witnessed in many bazaars on account of heavy rush. Before the rains lashed the region high speed dust storm left many high and dry and stranded due to traffic chaos on the busy roads in Jammu. Farmers awaiting onset on monsoon in the coming days are now keeping their fingers crossed for timely rains during the ongoing sowing season.
