RSS, VHP top leadership to meet in Delhi to discuss future course on Amarnath yatra

JAMMU, June 7: Taking serious exception to negative role played by state government and Shri Amaranth Shrine Board (SASB) the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has convened a top level meeting of VHP and RSS leaders in Union capital on Saturday to discuss the issue threadbare.
According to sources the meeting was convened by Sarkarivah of Sangh and senior leader of VHP including Ashok Singhal and Dr Parveen Bhai Togadia are also attending it.Besides the VHP leaders from J&K who have already left for New Delhi on June 5 will also participate in the meeting.
Sources said the RSS and VHP top brass after taking a feedback from Dr Surinder Jain national spokesman VHP who was monitoring his organisation's first phase of Amarnath Bachao Andolan at Jammu will devise the future plan of action. The RSS and VHP leadership which has taken serious exception to SASB for not allowing yatra to proceed for holy shrine of Amarnath on June 3 to perform darshan on Jesht Purnima which was on June 4, the VHP has decided to make its Amarnath Bachao andolan a nation wide movement on the pattern of Ram Setu Andolan in Tamil Nadu.
Sources said the VHP leaders who will also call on President, Prime minister and Home Minister and apprise them about the situation and unnecessary hurdles created by the Shrine board in the start of yatra on Jesht purnima will demand recall of Governer N.N.Vohra who is also the chairman of the board.
Sources said VHP has also taken serious exception to the statements of Chief minister Omar Abdullah and chairman Art of living Shri Shri Ravi Shanker on Amarnath yatra and asked them to desist from making such statements which will hurt the sentiments of people.
Sources said, the leadership of RSS and VHP while supporting the two month long Yatra to holy cave should continue as per tradition, will seek a guarantee from union government in this regard. The VHP will also urge the Government that the controversy over Yatra should end one for all as it generates public resentment which threatens peace and tranquility, sources added.
Sources said VHP while justifying its stand on two month long yatra will apprise the union government of reports of Nitish Sen Gupta, Gen Mookerjee and justice Kohli commission recommendations. Besides it will also provide them the Puranic references supporting the two month long yatra, sources added.
