| Attachment of the property of land grabber ordered | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 8: For the first time proceedings u/s 12(a) against a criminal evading arrest in a warrant issued under Public Safety Act court has ordered for attachment of the property. Meanwhile Judicial Magistrate Ist Class Sub-Registrar Jammu directed the said criminal to appear before the said court on or before 06-08-2012.
Taking a strong notice of the accused identified as Varinder Kumar Gupta Alias Kaka Chichdi S/O Banarsi Dass R/O 41-F, Gali No 6, Talab Tillo, Jammu being a history sheeter, the District Magistrate Jammu requested the Court for proceedings U/S 12(a) of the Public Safety Act (PSA) for attachment of the property of the subject to compel his presence.
Judicial Magistrate Ist Class Sub-Registrar Jammu made a proclamation U/S 87 Cr. Pc directing the said criminal to appear before the said court on or before 06-08-2012 failing which the subject shall be declared as proclaimed offender and the moveable and immovable property of the subject shall be attached.
Pertinent to mention here that Jammu Police has recommended to District Magistrate Jammu for the detention Under Public Safety Act for the said accused who is a History Sheeter, hard core criminal, land grabber and desperate character habitual of indulging in acts of violence such as murder, attempt to murder and assault etc having many criminal cases registered in different FIRs like case FIR No 42/2012 U/S 120-B, 341, 353, 452, 504, 506, 464, 469, 471 RPC 4/25 Arms Act P/S Gandhi Nagar and case FIR No 80/2012 U/S 4/25 Arms Act Police Station Gandhi Nagar.
Subsequently a PSA warrant was issued by DM Jammu on 11-04-2012 ordering the detention of the said criminal and Jammu Police was directed to execute the orders. |
