According to police a complaint was received from the victim yesterday and finally an FIR was registered under section 420 RPC. Police said the accused Parvaiz Iqbal Tak is still absconding and they are looking for him at different places.
Police said that the Global Packet Radio Service (GPRS) installed inside the vehicle holds key to unravel the link of missing actress. "The keys of the vehicles are very important since it will give them the access to GPRS data. Once the company Mitsubishi, the branded owner of the vehicle Outlander provides them the duplicate keys of the vehicle, they will try to get the access to GPRS data so that the police come to know about the routes used by the persons involved in dumping of vehicle at Kishtwar."

Police said that Parvaiz Iqbal Tak introduced himself with Laila Khan's family as Ateeq and later married Laila Khan's mother Saleena Patail. Police said that Saleena Patail is the 3rd wife of Parvaiz as he had already married twice. His first wife Tasleema Banoo of Kishtwar and has 3 daughters from him. For the second time he married the daughter of retired naval officer of Hoishirpur where he (Parvaiz) introduced himself as Sikh youth settled in Canada. An FIR is already registered against him at police station Hoishirpur.

Police said that they did not rule out the murder of the actress and her family in lieu of money and said that they were looking for the record of some unidentified dead bodies recovered from Jammu Kashmir during last one year.

Police also informed that this is not the first time that Laila Khan's family disappeared and said that in the year 1991, Laila's mother along with her children went underground and finally were traced in Pune in the year 1995.

Police said that the delay in registration of an FIR hammered the investigation. "Though Mumbai police had information about the disappearance of family since February 2011, but they believe that the entire family had traveled to Tanzania where Liala's father stays in connection with his readymade garments business", police said.

Police said that it was only when Nadir Shah returned Mumbai from Tanzania, the police registered missing FIR in connection with Laila Khan and her family and finally after scrutinizing the call details, Mumbai police reached a flat at Nasik, but failed to trace out the missing actress.
