| Lok Adalat settles 26 cases | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, June 9 : A Lok Adalat held here today at the district court complex settled twenty civil and criminal, besides six MACT cases. The Lok Adalat was held under the Chairmanship of Principal District & Session Judge, Udhampur, Ashok Kumar Koul with two benches constituted to deal and settle the cases referred by various courts of Udhampur. The first bench comprising of Principal District & Sessions Judge Udhampur, Ashok Kumar Koul and Additional District & Sessions Judge Udhampur, Mohinder Kumar Sharma was dealt with matrimonial and MACT cases, while second bench comprising of CJMU Udhampur, Soba Ram Gandhi and Munsiff JMIC Udham-pur, Amit Sharma took up civil & criminal matters. A total of 57 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat, out of which 6 MACT, Bank cases and 20 civil and criminal cases were settled. An amount of Rs. 11,30,000 was given as compensation and recovery in MACT cases. It was disclosed that the next Lok Adalat would be held on July 09, 2012.
