| Env & remote sensing celebrates environment week | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 9: As part of Environment celebration, the Department of Environment and Remote Sensing today organized a painting and symposium with the tiny tots of St. Georges, Higher Secondary School, Batote.
In painting competition, Jai Vinay Singh, Hbnat Parveen and Syed Suhaib Shah clinched first, second and third position respectively while Jaggit Kour and Muskan Anthal got the consolation prizes.
In symposium competition, Harneet Kour, Muskan Anthal, Parpishpa Pargal and Ansh Anthal bagged first, second, third and fourth place respectively.
Regional Director, Environment and Remote Sensing, Mr V K Raina was the chief guest on the occasion.
He distributed prizes among the meritorious children and spoke on the burning environmental issues.
He advised the children to help preservation of natural resources for a better future.
The programme was presided over by Father Jerry Lobo, Manager/Coordinator of Saint Georges Schools.
