6/10/2012 12:11:50 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 9: In order to mount pressure on the coalition Government, hundreds of Government and Public Sector Undertakings' employees under the banner of SGEJAC held massive protest demonstration near Press Club, here today.
The demonstrators were raising slogans against the government for its alleged failure to redress various pending demands of the employees.
At Jammu main demonstration was held under the leadership of Subhash Verma, Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma, Mohd Farooq, Suman Sharma.
In their address, they warned the government of dire consequences for such a silent attitude and appealed all the employees to be ready for another round of protest programme for which will be announced soon.
It is very unfortunate that demands like release of 6th pay commission balance arrears in two cash instalments, removal of conditions on withdrawal of GP Fund, regularization on daily wagers, adhoc, contractual , RETs, EVs, framing of regularization policy for Anganwari and Asha workers, Removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadres and others, Implementation of 6th pay recommendation and release of DA to remaining PSUs, extending of budgetary support for their revival, increase in HRA to Rs 1000 and increase in retirement age to 60 without any embargo are not new to the Govt. and need no repetition.
The leaders appealed all the employees to see the reason and every individual should make an effort for unity which is the need of the hour.
It was also announced that like minded employees leaders will be accommodated in the next programme and everyone must learn from the past performance and role of trade Union leaders which deceived the employees at the best of the Govt.
The state executive is meeting very shortly to decide further course of action which will be announced within couple of days.
