EJAC appeals employees' to observe demonstrations from June 13 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 10: Calling upon the employees to observe protest demonstration from June 13 to 15 besides observing "Tala Bandh Hartal" on June 16 and a march towards Raj Bhawan Srinagar, the Employees' Joint Action Committee-Kashmir (EJAC-K) said today this step is necessitated as Government has not changed its position viz a viz state employees' demands. Addressing a press conference here today, the provincial president EJAC (K), Kulwant Singh explained and expressed serious concern over the apathetic attitude of the State Government towards the employees. Singh said that it is unfortunate that sate Government is adopting an adamant attitude towards employees' demands already agreed upon between the Government and JCC representative on February 19, 2009, May 14, 2010 and September, 15, 2012. He said that the state government is trying to adopt delaying tactics and not implementing the already written agreement. Despite the best efforts from the employee's side to avert direct confrontation, the government is pushing the employees to resort to agitation, he added. EJAC leader said that the government did not address the agreed demands but also resorted to the ruthless repression on the struggling employees by cane charging and using colour water cannons on peaceful demonstrators. Under such circumstance employees are left with no option other than to intensify the struggle and appeal to all sections of Government and public sector employees to observe protest demonstration from June 13 to 15 besides holding "Tala Bandh Hartal" on June 16 through the length and breath of the state and a protest march to Raj Bhawan Srinagar. |
