CPO organises Consumer Awareness Programme | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 10: Consumer Protection Organisation (CPO) and Residents Welfare Association Gandhi Nagar jointly organized a "Consumer Awareness Programme", here today. The programme was attended by large number of people from different sections of the society. Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation K L Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion. President Residents Welfare Association L M Khajuria presented the welcome address. He also threw light on the day to day problems being faced by the consumers and remedial measures available to them. President CPO D R Danish spoke on the general awareness among the consumers and stated that it was the need of the hour to inseminate detailed information and awareness among the masses to save them from the clutches of adulterated commodities. Secretary General CPO Mohinder Sharma stressed on the health care facilities provided by the government hospitals.He said that at present health care facilities are provided by the private players and that too comes under Consumer Protection Act. He also said that the Right to Information 2009 is appreciable as far as health services are concerned. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included S C Rekhi, Kanta Sharma, Nirmal Padha, C M Seth, I D Soni, and Col (Retd) Ajaib Singh besides others.
