DB asks Registrar Judicial to file report on status of sarai for patients' attendants at GMCH
6/11/2012 10:58:32 PM
JAMMU, June 11 ( JNF): In a PIL filed by Viklang Chhatra Trust (VCT) about the non-functioning of sarai near GMCH, a high court division bench of Justice J P Singh and Justice Hasnain Massodi has appointed Registrar Judicial as commissioner with the direction that he would visit the sarai and make his report within four weeks, indicating whether or not the government had discharged its obligation in releasing requisite funds and supplying the beds needed for it. The VCT counsel submitted that despite the execution of a memorandum of undertaking between the government through health and medical education department and regional Red-Cross Society through divisional commissioner, Jammu, attendants' sarai at Maheshpura Chowk had not been made functional. Upon this, the division bench deemed it appropriate to appoint the Judicial Officer of high court to inspect the sarai and file report as to what further steps might be required and by whom to make it operational.
