Early Times Report

Jammu, June 11: The apex committee members today warned the Government that if it failed to solve the problems of displaced Pandits including enhancement of cash relief, bringing of ordinance for constitution of board for protection of religious places in Kashmir valley and implementation of much talked about PM's employment package in letter and spirit.
Talking to reporters here today, member Apex Committee and general secretary All state Kashmiri Pandit conference(ASKPC) H.L.Chatta and president All india Kashmiri Pandit Conference(AIKPC) H.N.Jatu said that displaced pandits are facing many financial constraints as the meager amount of cash relief of Rs 5000 for a family is not sufficient to make their both ends to meet.
Chatta said the relief holders are on Dharna for last 78 days demanding the enhancement of cash relief and the Government should take cognizance of the same. He however expressed the confidence that the assurance given by the Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation minister Raman Bhalla to a delegation of Apex committee members yesterday regarding settlement of the demands reveals the concern of the Government for the same.
He said Bhalla assured that a memo has been prepared to be submitted to central Government for hiking cash relief and same will be approved in next cabinet meeting . Besides the government has agreed to advertise 1500 posts out of 3000 posts which were sanctioned under PM's package under central sponsorship soon. While the modalities for rest 3000 posts under state sponsorship are being worked out he added. He said Bhalla assured that modalities for bringing an ordinance on religious places and Hindu temples in valley are being framed and soon this ordinance will be brought by the Government.
Justifying the demand for enhancement of cash relief H.N.Jatu said displaced people were unable to bear their day to day expenses as the cash assistance paid to them is too meager in view of the escalation of prices. He said the displaced Pandits are confident that Chief Minister and Revenue Minster will fulfill the commitment made with the community. Jatu also expressed concern over the dharna launched by some KP youth in Srinagar saying they were playing in the hands of some antisocial elements. He also justified the decision on advertising the 1500 posts by government. B.L.Bhat, P.L.Raina, M.K.Yogi, Jatin Bhat, R.L.Raina, A.K.Raina and Chuni Lal Bhat were among the other apex committee members in the press conference.
