Shiv Sena, Dogra front seek Amaranth Yatra throughout the year
6/11/2012 11:06:54 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 11: Shri Amarnath Yatra should continue through out the year depending upon weather conditions in order to end the controversy which crops up every year. The yatra will encourage pro India forces and at the same time it will demoralize and discourage anti-national elements said Ashok Gupta President Shiv Sena and Dogra Front.
In 1996, 243 lost their lives due to snow storm and bad weather.
The figure has increased to 117 last year 2011. The large number of pilgrims lost their lives due to inadequate medical facilities.
Ashok Gupta said it was total failure on the government part to understand conditions and understanding between State Govt. and Shri Amarnath Yatra Shrine Board is null and both have shifted responsibilities on bulked number of yatris instead of making proper and adequate arrangements.
This year also till date no instructions has been passed to doctors in Jammu and Kashmir region for insuring their presence in the hilly terrain on route of Amarnath Yatra.
Govt. and Shrine Board is not their to count heads and number of dead persons and they don't take the responsibility towards public coming from different parts of the country.
Ashok Gupta demanded that special oxygen facility should be provided on both routes of Amarnath Yatra and at least 200 points should be develop for medical aids usage.
Govt. is spending huge amount in advertisement and on other material for inviting the tourism in the state but at the same time it has failed to provide minimum basic facilities to visitors in the state.
It is painful that more than 117 persons lost their lives during last year but no senior minister in the cabinet or chief minister took any action to make arrangements for yatris so that causalities can be decreased to minimum.
Ashok Gupta contacted principals both medical colleges including Batra Private College but till date Govt. or Shrine Board has not sought any assistance it reflects casual and callous approach of the Shrine Board and the govt. and this time if casualties increases both will be responsible and have to answer their failure to public.
The Persons those to participated in the protest are Guddu, Vijay Chawala, Bikku Kumar, and Ashok Kumar.
