| Adventure camp concludes at Apple Kids | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 11: The 10-day long adventure camp, organized by Apple Kids International Pre-School, Bantalab here, concluded with valedictory function at the school premises, today. Besides adventure activities, over 100 participants from various schools, including those from Kathua, Akhnoor and Delhi enjoyed dance and music, taekwando, yoga and splash pool. A magic show and number of other creative activities of art and craft were also conducted. Sub-Divisional Magistrate, RS Pura, SP Rukwal was chief guest in the valedictory function, who presented medals to the winners of the various competitions held during the camp. "During the camp the participants in the age group of three to 12 years were trained in sport climbing, beam balancing, Tarzan Swing, rope knots and tent pitching. Films on adventure were screened which kept the small children spell bound", said Principal of the school, Puja Sharma. Competitions in sport climbing, taekwando, dance, music, art and craft were also organized on different days of the camp and winners were honored on the concluding day today. The activities were held under the able guidance of Rahul and Anil Kumar, a national climber (sport climbing), Rajni Verma (art and craft), Gurinder Rakwal (taekwando), Nitin Kumar (dance), Preeti Kesar (music), Neha Datta, Poonam Mishra and Anu Bhat. Eminent personalities, who visited the camp and interacted with participants included Assistant Director Doordarshan, Sanjit Khajuria and general secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K, Ram Khajuria . Results of the activities: Taekwando: Junior Category: Divyansh Prashar, Bantalab, 1st; Radhika Sharma, 2nd; and Vansh Raina of Apple Kids International Pre School, 3rd. Sub Junior: Shranya Sharma of K.V-2, 1st; Navya Sharma of Sprawling Buds School, 2nd and Akshad Sharma of Sprawling Buds School, 3rd. Under 12 year: Anshu Pandita of Sprawling Buds School, 1st; Vanshika Deonia of Green Field Public School, Delhi, 2nd and Bhoomika Sharma of Army Public School, Akhnoor, 3rd. Sport Climbing: Junior category: Manya Sharma of Apple Kids International Pre School, 1st; Aryan Chandel, 2nd and Vanshika Sharma, 3rd. Sub-junior category: Devyansh Sharma, Krishana Gupta and Bhavesh Pandita, all from Sprawling Buds School, bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. Under-12 year: Sanyam Nagar of Sprawling Buds School, 1st; Suhana Sharma of K.V-2, 2nd and Nikhil Bhagat of Sprawling Buds School, 3rd. Music: Bhuvnesh Bhan of Sprawling Buds School, 1st; Aaliya Sharma of Apple Kids International School, Bantalab, 2nd and Namya Sharma of St. Mary Presentation Convent, 3rd. Commando net: Myra Tickoo of Sprawling Buds School, Ist; Shreya Pandita of Apple Kids International Pre School, 2nd and Atharavdeep of Sprawling Buds School, 3rd. Burma bridge: Ankita Rajput of Apple Kids International Pre School, Ist; Aakarshan Verma of MHAV Nagbani School, 2nd and Atharav Bhaigra of Sprawling Buds School, 3rd. Best Performer: Rahini Sharma in Himalayan Group, Shiva Kumar in Everest group and Asma Gul in Tenzing group. Ridhima Sharma was awarded for being the youngest camper.
