Axe may fall on selected ineligible candidates | SSRB to conduct supplementary interviews for selection of teachers | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 11: In wake of the recently announced court verdict which disqualified the candidates of certain Universities, the Jammu and Kashmir services selection board is conducting supplementary interviews for finalizing the selection lists for the posts of teachers. While talking to KNS, SSRB Chairman Mohammad Afzal Bhat said the board is waiting for a copy of the court order to initiate steps for completion of the selection process. "We will try to finalize the selection lists in the shortest possible time but we are waiting for the court orders which should be with us very soon", Bhat said. According to experts the board is bound by rules to call five candidates for interview against every post. Since the ratio is most likely to drop after taking out the disqualified candidates from the total number of interviewed candidates, the board will be conducting supplementary interviews. "In case the ratio falls below the minimum acceptable level which is 1 is to 5, we will have to conduct supplementary interviews", the Chairman told KNS. "As per the order of merit we will call more candidates for interview from among the eligible (dropped) candidates", he added. Pertinently in case of some districts where the selection lists have already been issued, the ineligible candidates may as well lose their jobs. "Action as per law will be taken in case some ineligible candidates have got through in the already issued selection lists", Bhat said. |
