Latest photo of Junaid links him to militancy; Police

Kishtwar, June 11: Latest picture of a teenager from Kishtwar wanted in Delhi High Court blast case has revealed his terror links after his parents claimed that he was kidnapped by Azhar Ali Butt of Padder in first week of November 2010.
Junaid Akram Malik is wanted by National Investigative Agency (NIA) probing last year September 7 blast outside Delhi High Court which left 16 people dead and 80 wounded.
According to police, 19- year- old Junaid Akram Malik is "A" category militant in police records wanted in Delhi HC blast case by Kishtwar police and NIA. Police said that though initially the family members registered his kidnapping report at police station Kishtwar, but with the passage of time investigation conducted by the police established that he (Junaid) is an active militant presently hiding in forests of Marwah and Dachhan with Hizb militants like Chota Hafiz and Amir Kamal both wanted in Delhi HC blast.
Police said that the picture showing Junaid with AK 47 was actually taken in last year summer. The sources said that since December last year, whereabouts of Junaid Akram Malik are not known.
The sources said that as per various reports and intelligence reports, Junaid was killed in a group clash last year along with Shamsher Kanna a former HUJI militant after Junaid tried to escape the HM group with the aim of surrendering.
Meanwhile, family members of Junaid termed the latest photograph of Junaid Akram Malik as a handiwork of security agencies and said that the picture is doctored and prepared in computer. They said that both Junaid and Dr. Waseem are innocent and Kishtwar police along with NIA is framing them innocently. They said that the case is in court and said that family is united to fight the case in court and are hopeful that both Dr. Waseem and Junaid will be proved innocent in court. They said that they have no knowledge of whereabouts of Junaid Akram Malik since he according to them was kidnapped.
