| PYC fanfare in name of felicitation ceremonies….? | | New Delhi takes notice of ‘ostentation’ post polls | | Early times Report
Jammu, June 11: Even as the new body of J&K unit of Pradesh Youth Congress is 'indulging' in a spree of gala fanfare and functions for the past few days , the hangover of which is seen in glitterati of colourful ads on hoardings and in the ads , New Delhi, it is learnt to have taken a strong notice of 'loudness 'and even administered a dose of 'admonishment' to the concerned quarters for what they see as unwarranted extravaganza which is not sending a good and positive message down the cadres.
PYC, it appears is in mood and mode to break all past and set new records its parent body J&K PCC has been seen to have created with regard to ever widening factions, , groups and lobbies within the organization. Hours after declaration of new unit post elections conducted for new functionaries, a spree of functions and fanfare is what one gets to see in the political space of Jammu these days, where no day passes without gala felicitation ceremonies for one or the other executive functionary. The irony is instead of clubbing these felicitation ceremonies together or on one platform, it is 'free for all' and a directionless scenario for the entire PYC in Jammu.
Victory celebrations and felicitations are natural and expected developments post any election in any political organization. But in PYC these have become conspicuous for all negative reasons. While the polls in itself remained hazy and somewhat under questionable 'transparency' , the results and follow up developments too are not seen in perfect light. The felicitation fanfare is loaded with more than required publicity, wherein some top level functionaries are trying to throw weight , obviously in the wake of some 'heavyweights' in the party at their back to pat on. Two days back the newspapers were filled with details of at least three such separate functions organized by the supporters of three PYC elected leaders at different places.
While in Bhaderwah it was the show of the newly elected president Choudhary Shahnawaz who steered it under the name and banner of 'Jan Chetna Abhiyan', not yet clear on what sort of awareness and chetna, in Jammu tow other functions were seen at different places, one to felicitate vice president and other to greet and felicitate Lok Sabha president at Khour. Sources said all this is being seen as only 'tamasha' by concerned quarters in New Delhi and it is amply clear to them that all the functionaries are organizing these on their own with support of their 'cronies' and God fathers alike, a show reflecting only one upmanship. The fingers are mainly being raised at the newly elected president for it is being noted that he instead of taking everyone on board and along , as team and show some teamwork right from the beginning, he too is moving in direction less and programmeless manner.
