Young Panthers, NPSU seek probe into Floriculture Deptt appointments | | Yash Bhasin | 6/12/2012 10:24:36 PM |
| Early Times Report JAMMU, June 12: In protest against the alleged large scale appointments of daily rated, casual and other ministerial staff made in the Floriculture Department through back door, the Young Panthers and National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) today jointly organized a demonstration outside the office of Director Floriculture. Led by Provincial Secretary Young Panthers Pavan Dev Singh, President NPSU Partap Jamwal and senior Young Panthers leader Abhinav Anand, the JKNPP activists raised slogans against Director Floriculture for the illegal appointments JKNPP activists claimed that the Floriculture Department has made around 1600 such illegal appointments out of which 300-400 appointees are disengaged after every 2-3 months only to convey the misleading impression that the appointees are engaged on temporary and need based basis. They alleged that there are more than 1200 candidates engaged by Floriculture Deptt. who are continuing on regular basis with majority of them having completed 4-5 years continuous service without breaks due to the most illegal, hostile and unwholesome classification of workers made by the deptt. in the most arbitrary and whimsical manner. Addressing the demonstrators, Pavan Dev Singh, Abhinav Anand and Partap Jamwal sought a high level probe into all appointments made in the Floriculture Department with thorough investigation of the modus operandi adopted for making the said appointments. They said that the Floriculture authorities had abused their position and authority and made all appointments in violation of prescribed norms and regulations. JKNPP leaders said that the most obnoxious and mischievous aspect of the whole gamut was the payment of different wage rates to different employees doing the identical jobs. |
