'CRPF doing good job in militancy hit Doda district'

The Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF),right from its deployment in the militancy innfested Doda district, apart from effectively tackling militancy, has won the hearts of the common people by its several people-friendly measures.
The 78th Bn of the Force has effectively marginalized terrorism in their area of responsibility by neutralizing the terrorist leadership and its cadres to make inroads to win hearts and minds of people by improving their socio economic condition.
In the past years, the Force has effectively carried out a well orchestrated psychological and surgical operation initiatives resulting in neutralizing a large number of terrorist in the form of surrenders without any collateral damages.
It is pertinent to mention here that On January 28 last,an encounter took place at village Chakka of Bhadarwah in Distt Doda between the troops of 78Bn CRPF,Police and Army with militants. The CRPF troops were led by P.Nagarajan Commandant.During the 20 hourlong gun-fight,two LeT militants identified as Abid Zia and Farooq Ahmed were killed. During the operation,two brave jawans of CRPF namely HC/RO A.Sakthivel and CT/GD Aneesh Philip also sacrificed their lives.
In recognition of its commendable service and successuffly combating terrorism in the District,the Battalion has been awarded with President Police Medal for gallantry on the Republic Day this year.Those who were awarded included P. Nagarajan, Commandant, Ajeet Bhati,Assistant Comandant and HC/GD A.L.Chandra Sekhar, while HC/RO A.Sakthivel and CT/GD Aneesh Philip were awarded with President Police Medals posthoumsly.
