PSC to reconsider placement cases of college teachers: Malik | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 12: Allaying the fears of college teachers, Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Ghani Mallik stated that the Higher Education department had asked PSC to reconsider the riders attached to the placement cases of over 500 college teachers. The department was seized of the fact that the misplaced riders would create a piquant situation in the seniority of the college teachers which would have long lasting repercussions for higher education. He was hopeful to get back the placement list from PSC within ten days. The Minister was speaking while interacting with a delegation of college teachers, who called on him under the aegis of J&K College Teachers Association (CTA), in the summer secretariat to strongly protest the inordinate delay in settling the placement cases of the college teachers. President CTA, Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta also apprised the minister to revert to the UGC guidelines for direct teaching load and superannuation age for the college teachers. The delegation was accompanied by Dr Satesh Bhan, General Secretary CTA, Prof Anjali Mahajan, Prof R S Jamwal, Prof B.K.Gandhotra, Dr C K Khajuria, Dr Neeraj Gupta, Prof Joginder Singh, Prof Prem Singh and others. |
