Brother arrested for killing sister in Udhampur | | | early times report Jammu, June 12: Udhampur Police today claimed to have solved the much publicized Neetu murder case with the arrest of a youth in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police spokesperson stated that in a major breakthrough, Udhampur police investigating the mysterious murder case of Usha Devi alias Neetu alias Kansoo, D/o Sh Swarn Singh, of village Thatti Pathwad arrested one person identified as Rajesh Singh alias Deepu, the real brother of the deceased who shot her with illegal 'country made rifle'. Police said that the deceased wanted to marry a Billawar based boy with whom she had fallen in love and the deceased disclosed about her wish of marrying the boy to her younger brother Deepu (accused). To get approval from her brother for her marriage, Neetu had also arranged telephonic conversation between her lover and younger brother about a month ago but wherein Deepu had categorically turned down that proposal following which the duo also exchanged heated words. "Agitated over the heated arguments, Deepu was hell bent to teach a lesson to his elder sister for proposing Billawar based boy against his wishes. In the meanwhile, family members of Neetu had also proposed one Satwari boy as her life partner which Neetu did not want as she has decided her better half much earlier about a year ago, police said. However, on June 5 while all other family members were out and mother was sleeping, the accused shot at Neetu with unlicensed 'Rifle' and she received severe injuries to which she succumbed while being shifted to the GMC Jammu. Police, however, initiated proceedings, visited the spot, recovered weapon of offence and also seized clothes and other relevant items from the spot. A FIR has been registered under sections 302, 201 of RPC and 3/25 Arms Act and the investigations are in progress.
