2 murder accused held with weapon | | | early times report SRINAGAR, June 13: Police today claimed to have solved the blind murder case of Wali Mohammad Hajam alias Imtiyaz whose body was found lying at Batamaloo here. SSP, Srinagar, Ashiq Bukhari said the missing report of Imtiyaz, son of Ghulam Rasool of Wagat, Handwara, who was putting up at Batamaloo Srinagar, was filed by his cousin on May 15, 2012. He was mason by profession. During investigation, 25 people were questioned. Finally, the investigators zeroed in on Muneer Ahmed War, son of Abdul Aziz of Hatmula, Kupwara, and Izharul Islam, son of Abdul Majeed Ganie of Hassanpora, Bijbehara. Both of them were at present putting up at Batmaloo. They allegedly revealed that the victim had been murdered and his body dumped in a plot of land in lane No 5 at Firdosabad, Batamaloo. The SSP said that the cold blooded murder took place because Muneer felt jealous of the victim because of his close proximity with a girl towards whom the accused was greatly attracted. The other accused Izharul Islam had facilitated the disposal of the corpse. The body and the weapon of offence, a knife, were later recovered by police on the disclosure of the main accused. On that fateful day, the victim had visited the house of the accused where they had a duel about their relation with the girl. The accused did not like the proximity of the victim with the girl. The accused also had relation with the same girl wanted to get rid of Imitiyaz. As he had procured a knife from a blacksmith of Rainawari, he assaulted the victim on his head, resulting in his instant death.
