| People hold protest against delay in PMGSY road project | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KISHTWAR, June 13: People of Sigdi Chatroo and its adjoining areas block Kishtwar-Chatroo road at Sangambata Bridge resulting into traffic disruption for nearly 3 hours. The people were protesting against PMGSY department over slow pace of work on Sangambati-Sigdi road. The agitating people alleged that PMGSY officials fail to complete the work of road construction well on time and said that the said road project is schedule to be completed in 2011 is still incomplete.
They said that the PMGSY department did the road at many places as a result of which the people faces lot of hardship while travelling on this road. They said that since last few months, the department has stopped the work on this road. They demanded immediate attention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who holds the portfolio of R & B ministry.
The agitating people lift the blockade only after the assurance from senior officers of District Administration. |
