Bank employees union presents memorandum to visiting MP | | | early times report Jammu, June 13: The office bearers of the bank employees union of Jammu and Kashmir presented a memorandum of demands to the visiting member of parliament Tiruchisiva, Chairman Standing Parliamentary Committee on Finance & Industries. Various issues raised by the association in the memorandum included Payment of disturbed area allowance to Jammu region at par with Kashmir valley. The representatives rued the discrimination with regard to "risk to the human life" and "payment of disturbed area allowance" between the employees of Kashmir and Jammu needs to half now and the allowance paid to employees working in Jammu as well. They demanded a special package for recruitment of security guards so that at-least every bank branch in J&K is provided with armed security guard. The representatives rued that since last few years requests for postings in the valley are turned down and banks go to the extent of transferring officers from rest of India to Kashmir and turn down representations of local employees of J&K while submitting their consent to be retained in J & K instead. They lodged strong protest for such attitude of HRDD of Punjab National Bank and requested for entertaining representations under 1734 for posting of officers at least up to Scale III cadre. Thowse who presented the memorandum included Com. :Arun Kumar Gupta, Com. V. K. Dutta, Com. A K Khazanchi, Com Manjit Singh, Com. R. K. Basotra, Com. Govardhan Singh Jamwal & Com Ashwani Pradhan. |
