NC to support UPA presidential candidate: Omar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT ANANTNAG, June 13: While stating that NC will vote for UPA presidential candidate, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that the better relations between India and Pakistan are in the interest of the state. National Conference will vote for the UPA nominees for the posts of President and Vice President of the country as we are the part of the UPA Government," Omar Abdullah said after inaugurating five bridges on Anantnag- Simthan Road in South Kahmir's Kokernag area, a famous tourist destination of the valley. "As the two nations, India and Pakistan engage themselves in dialogue process and are trying to strength their relations, we got automatically benefited by the situation or I can say that if the two countries start trade of power that will be a good step and we have always been supporting for better relationship among the two nations," Omar Abdullah said. He said, a good road network, especially through a difficult geographical terrain like that in Jammu and Kashmir, is crucial for holistic development of the state. "Inter-district road connectivity and alternate routes to supplement transportation, especially in winter months and rainy seasons, are all the more imperative to reach out to the people in the process of development," he said. |
