Goswami reviews police & other security forces modernization | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 14 : Union Special Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA )Anil Goswami today visited Jammu Police Headquarters (PHQ) and took a review of the issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces operating in the state. The meeting was attended by senior police, civil and para-military officers. Chairing the high-level meeting, Goswami said that the central government is very liberal in providing funds to the state for modernizing Jammu and Kashmir Police and security agencies working in the state.Goswami asked the heads of Jammu and Kashmir police and other security forces to project their demands and proposals in time to Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) so that the same are processed well in time. He asked them to ensure maximum utilization of funds released from time to time adding that adequate funds would be released to them periodically. He said took a detailed status review of weaponry procurement, communication and mobility, infrastructure and accommodation, upgradation of police hospitals, schools, civic action programmes, police workshops, housing sector, LoC trade and travel and installation of CCTNS for better monitoring. During the meeting, Goswami stressed on the need of protecting human rights and asked the heads of all security agencies to submit the periodic action taken reports on the recommendations of various human rights groups. Earlier, the Director General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar and officers of CRPF, BSF and Prisons presented their proposals for discussion through their detailed power point presentations.Among others, the meeting was attended by Principle Secretary Home, B. R. Sharma, Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Dr. S. P. Vaid, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Pradeep Gupta, IGP, Jammu Zone, Dilbag Singh, Inspectors General of Police, BSF and CRPF, Director FSL, Anayatullah, DIG, Administration (PHQ), Rajender Gupta, AIG, (Transport and Provision) PHQ, Aftab Ahmed Kakroo, Technical Officer, Prisons, J&K, Virender Razdan and other senior officers. |
