Govt fails to keep promise on employment package: KP Youth
6/14/2012 11:04:19 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, June 14: Over 1100 displaced KP youth whose names figure in waiting list for various posts under PM's employment package today warned to approach the Judiciary for justice in case the Government re-advertises the remaining 1500 posts out of 3000 posts in PM's package to be filled under central component. These youth are running from pillar to post for justice since 2010 after the process of recruitment under PM's package started. Though 800 posts out of 3000 fell under reserved category meant for SC/ST/OBC/ALC categories and no such category prevailing among the Pandits the Government had to de-reserve these posts in order to give benefits to displaced youth of the package, said Ramesh Kumar an aggrieved youth.
The process took a complete one year till August last year the posts were derecognized in the cabinet and later an amendment made to the recruitment rule through legislation during the budget session of 2011-2012 in the state legislature, he added.
Ramesh said though the displaced youth were promised that the de-reserved posts will be filled among the waiting list candidates as they had applied for these posts advertised in the notification in 2010. A cabinet order was also issued in this regard in which recruitment agency was directed to fill up the posts among waiting list but till date this decision was not implemented generating a lot of resentment among the displaced youth, he said.
Subash Koul another KP youth said that on one hand government promised the displaced youth that these posts will be filled up among the waiting list and on the other it gave indications of re-advertising the 1500 posts out of 3000 posts advertised under centre component of the package. This speaks about the double standards of the government, he added Subash said that this is a cheating with the youth who have lost the jobs in private sector to make the return package of the Government of India meaningful. By re-advertising the posts the fresh candidates who have passed their graduation and post graduation over a year or two back fall high in merit list. The waiting list candidates who have passed their graduation and post graduation over 10 years back and whose education suffered due to turmoil cannot compete with the fresh candidates. This way they will not be able to find the jobs though they sacrificed their jobs over two years back in private sector to make PM's package a success by filling up the forms voluntarily at that time when there were many apprehensions about return process.
Meanwhile R.K.Bhat President Youth All India Kashmiri Smaj(YAIKS) has appealed both Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Raman Bhalla to make a humanitarian view on the package and absorb the youth in waiting list. Bhat warned that in case the Government refutes the implementation of package and giving benefits to waiting list candidates YAIKS will take the issue to court of law for justice.
