| BAJ felicitates New Chief Justice | | | Jammu, June 15 (JNF) : Bar Association Jammu today organized a function to welcome new Chief Justice of J&K High Court MM Kumar on his maiden visit to Jammu Wing of the High Court after his being sworn as the Chief Justice of J&K High Court on June 8, 2012.
Welcome-function began with an impressive bouquet-presentation-ceremony, wherein bouquets were presented by S.Surinder former President of Bar Association. Bouquets to Chief Justice were also presented by Bansi Lal Bhat, Presiding Officer, CBI Court Jammu, as also by Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Principal Distt. & Sessions Judge Jammu. D.K.Khajuria, Former President Bar presented a bunch of flowers to Justice Virender Singh, Surinder Kour, Sr. Advocate presented the bunch of flowers to Justice J.P.Singh whileas Ajay Sharma C.G.S.C presented the bouquet to Justice Yaqoob Mir.Welcoming the Chief Justice M. M. Kumar, Vikram Sharma, general secretary, Bar Association Jammu, while delivering the inaugural Welcome-address, congratulated the Chief Justice on his assuming Office as such Chief Justice of the High Court of J&K and extended a warm welcome on his maiden visit there after to Jammu Wing of the High Court. B.S.Slathia, President Bar Association, Jammu apprised of the healthy traditions of the Bar in extending its full corporation in the administration of Justice. Slathia in his speech lauded the role of judiciary which has succeeded in eradicating corruption and expediting the justice delivery with support of the lawyers and supervision of the High Court. He expressed the hope that the vacancies in the strength of Judges would be filled shortly to ease out the pendency of cases.
The Chief Justice in his address expressed that he was overwhelmed by the welcome he has been accorded by the Bar Association and thanked the Bar Association for this gesture.
He stressed that a better justice dispensation pre-requires a concerted efforts by both the Bench and the Bar and the ultimate aim of justice to one and all can be achieved with such concerted efforts.
