Vigilance & Monitoring Committee Samba reviews various schemes | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, June 15 : A meeting of Vigilance & Monitoring Committee District Samba was held under the Chairmanship of Member Parliament (MP), Madan Lal Sharma, to review the progress of various schemes funded by Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India in the District. MP and Co-Chairman of the Committee, Ch Lal Singh, Vice-Chairperson, J&K Advisory Board for Welfare of SC, Swaran Lata, MLA Samba Constituency, Yash Paul Kundal, MLA Hiranagar, Durga Dass, MLC Noor Hussain and the nominated members of the committee, besides the District Officers of various departments were present in the meeting. At the outset, District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mubarak Singh gave a detailed account of allocation and achievements of the schemes, funded by the Ministry of Rural Development Department and highlighted that under MG-NREGA, the District received an amount of Rs. 2488.39 lakhs from Govt. of India in comparison to Rs. 630.30 lakhs during the year 2010-11. He also informed that during the year 2011-12, under MG-NREGA as against the availability of an amount of Rs.2488.39 lakhs, an amount of Rs. 2077.78 lakhs was expended which generated 8.95 lakh mandays for job card holders. He also informed that the District has taken initiative to rejuvenate/renovate 427 No. water bodies i.e Community Ponds, Wells etc. under MG-NREGA.The committee appreciated the initiatives taken by the District in Renovating/Rejuvenating the 330 community ponds with active participation of Panchayats. It was also informed that 1242.80 Lakhs was spent for different schemes under NRDWP, whileas, an amount of Rs.1673.82 lakhs was spent for executing roads under PMGSY, besides an amount of Rs.110.58 Lakhs was spent for providing financial assistance under IAY. Madan Lal Sharma while speaking on the occasion impressed upon the officers to undertake regular touring and carry out vigorous monitoring for ensuring quality parameters and early completion of the schemes. He expressed his serious concern over the works being executed under RGGVY by NHPC and asked the District Development Commissioner to verify these works and also sort out the issue between NHPC and Power Development Department for taking over the infrastructure created under the scheme at the earliest. He appreciated the pace of work in the district but asked the officers to carry forward the developmental programmes with zeal and vigour. |
