| KMC continues drive against polythene, encroachment | | | Early Times Report
KATRA, June 15 : To keep the Holy city polythene free, the Enforcement Wing of Katra Municipal Committee (KMC) intensified its drive against the use of polythene carry bags under the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Sheetal Nanda here today.
KMC assisted by District Pollution Control Board Officer, Angraz Singh and local administration checked the areas of Main Bazaar, Banganga Road , Udhampur Road and inspected various shops. The team seized about 30 Kgs of polythene carry bags from different establishments of the town.
Besides this, the team also launched an Anti-Encroachment Drive to clear the footpaths, pavements, road sides and seized the goods. which were kept by the shopkeepers and vendors on the road side and footpaths creating obstruction in the free movements of vehicular traffic and caused inconvenience to the pedestrians. |
