Over 2 KG Charas recovered | 10 years RI, fine Rs 1 lac to accused | | Jammu, June 15 (JNF) : 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Sanjeev Gupta today awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 1 lac to Mohd Yousaf Dar s/o Ghulam Qadir Dar r/o Tangpura Batmaloo Srinagar who had been apprehended by Naka Party of police station Bus-Stand with 2 KG and 600 gram charas on May 21, 2010. 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Sanjeev Gupta after hearing APP GS Charak for the state whereas Adv Nadeem Bhat appearing for the accused, observed that the facts proved in the present case are that the convict was consciously was transporting commercial quantity of charas. The use of drug has become a major problem not only in over state but also in the country. The younger generation may be due to the exposure of latest electronic technology and other factors in fast paced life have got a particular temptation towards the use of drug which is nothing but destruction of the youth and the mankind. The persons, who deal with the narcotics, are not only a threat to the society but also to entire social environment. With these observations Court awarded 10 years RI and fine Rs 1 lac to Mohd Yousaf. |
