UCC, AVS Kings win ties in U-15 cricket

JAMMU, June 16: The UCC and AVS Kings won their respective matches to consolidate their position in the ongoing Summer Premier League Under-15 Cricket Tournament organised by a group of young cricketers at Green Field ground, here today. In the first match of the day, UCC defeated Nightmare Cricket Club by 21 runs. Batting first, UCC made 102 runs in given 15 overs. Rishav and Vinay were main scorers with 20 and 16 runs respectively. Abhishek (12) and Talat (11) were other contributors to the total. From Nightmare Club, Manik and Adesh bagged two wickets each while Shubam, Raghav and Adeshwar shared apiece each. In reply, Nightmare Club could not chase the total and bowled out for 81 runs. Kush and Vishu were top scorers with 16 and 10 runs in their respective accounts. Madhur, Akash, Vinay, Abhishek and Achut bagged two wickets each. For his all-round performance, Vinay was declared man of the match. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, AVS Kings defeated Royal XI by 25 runs. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, AVS Kings made 102 runs for the loss of eight wickets in given 15 overs. Mohit made 18 runs while Ankit and Sajan added 16 runs each. From Royal XI, Ankush bagged four wickets while Shivam took two and Shantnu bagged one. Later, chasing the target, Royal XI bowled out for 77 runs in 11 overs. Punit (12) and Mowal (11) were main scorers. Ankit was most successful bowler from AVS Kings with three wickets. Ishmeet and Parveen shared two wickets each.
