Mufti inspects developmental works at Anantnag | Expresses concern over delay in completion of various projects | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 16: Expressing his grave concern over total neglect of Anantnag town, patron of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today regretted that various developmental projects started by the previous PDP led regime for this historic town have been stalled without any reason. He further said that Anantnag town was victim of the discriminatory policies being propagated by the present government headed by National Conference as residents of this town are struggling to get even basic amenities. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed along with other senior leaders of the PDP today visited different areas of Anantnag and inspected the on going development works. Interacting with cross sections of the people during his visit to this town, Mufti reminded that previous PDP led regime has started South Campus of Kashmir University at Anantnag but no progress has been made in the project. He said that while sanctioning South Campus in Anantnag, it was planned to develop this campus as a full-fledged University to provide higher education to the students of Anantnag at their door steps. "We had also planned to start job oriented courses in the Campus", he recalled but added that the present regime has virtually stalled the project. He also mentioned that no progress has been made in providing adequate infrastructure and teaching staff to the degree college Anantnag.PDP patron said that during the previous PDP regime a flagship programme was started to construct a 300 bedded hospital at Anantnag and it was planned the same hospital would be gradually converted into a full-fledged medical college.Pointing towards traffic congestion in Anantnag town, Mufti reminded that the previous regime had sanctioned the project to construct four lane road from Khanabal to Pahalgam but the project has been virtually stalled. Highlighting lack of civic amenities in Anantnag town, PDP leader said that expect promises the present regime has done nothing to solve day today problems of the people. He said that like other parts of the State, Anantnag town was also experiencing worst ever power crises.PDP leader directed the authorities to speed up work on new hospital and Degree College Bijbehara. |
