Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 16 : BJP reaffirmed its rejection of recently released interlocutors' report on Jammu and Kashmir at the conclusion of 1-day workshop on Interlocutors Report organized by the party for its workers to educate them about the various aspects of this controversial report.
Party President Shamsher Singh Manhas, who also presided over the day long workshop, formally inaugurated the workshop by lightening the traditional lamp alongwith National Executive Member & MLA Ashok Khajuria, National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh, Kashmir Affairs Expert Daya Sagar, State Vice-President Chander Prakash Ganga, State General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, party MLAs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Shyam Choudhary. The presentation on the subject was made by Daya Sagar, while the introductory address was delivered by Dr. Jitendra Singh.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, in his inaugural address, said that the BJP has already rejected the report in its National Executive Meet at Mumbai and we re-affirm our stand on it. Whatever has been written through the Interlocutors in this report indicates as if Jammu & Kashmir is not a part of India, which is indeed a very serious matter and every nationalist citizen has raised his voice against it. He said that right from 1947, we have made supreme sacrifices with a motive to bring this border state more and more closer to Indian union and it was the result of continuous struggle that many loss were extended to J&K, besides bringing the jurisdiction of Supreme Court, Election Commission of India and other organizations. While the nation is progressing and we have been putting our best efforts to ensure the full integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India, the report of Interlocutors have sent wrong message as the Interlocutors have worked on the specific agenda of suggesting the ways and means to take Jammu and Kashmir away from India.
Daya Sagar said that the Union Home Ministry should have rejected the report outrightly without making it public. He questioned the Home Ministry as to why it did not read it when it was in their custody for seven long months. He alleged that the report is based on pre-conceived belief. He said that nothing will come out of this report and also questioned the constituting of several working groups and committees on Jammu and Kashmir in the past. He also referred to certain technical errors like terming the displaced PoK refugees as PoK migrants.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that it is a sacrilege for BJP to accept a report which goes against the party's principle stand of "Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan" for which the party's founding father Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerji had laid down his life. He said that Govt. of India owes to explain how the government-appointed Interlocutors on state pay-roll could be allowed to go scot free even after using unofficial and extra- constitutional expressions like Pakistan administered Jammu & Kashmir (PAJK) in place of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). He said that history will stand to judge what was the justification in spending enormous state exchequer on Interlocutors, who finally came out with a report which is inconclusive and full of contradictions.
