| Free health check-up camp organized | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 17: A free medical and health check-up camp was organized at Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission at Ambphalla Jammu. MLA Jammu West, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta inaugurated the camp.Youth volunteers and some renowned doctors including dental surgeons, physicians, gynaecologists and physiotherapists took part as volunteers in the camp.Free medical assistance was also provided to the patients. Sports persons from Kabaddi Association also availed this opportunity by taking a health check-up. Convenor of the camp, Dr. Nitin Gupta, Registrar, IGGDC, told the reporters that the purpose of organizing this camp is that the people in general are ignorant about their health and approach the doctors only when the medical condition of the patient has reached alarming levels. There is a need to change this perception. This is particularly true among the middle class and weaker sections of this' society |
